Sensory Playgroups
Why is play so important?
Play is essential to your child’s learning and development. It contributes to their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. When children play, they are provided with different ways to learn and interact with the world around them.
What is sensory play?
Sensory play is play that engages any of your child’s senses including touch, smell, taste, feel, sigh, and sound. A baby is not born with all of its senses fully developed. They develop over time as babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers explore the world around them.
Come play with us at The Speech Studio! We are providing children and their parents with a messy, multi-sensory, language packed, play-based experience. Our playgroups consist of a variety of sensory stations where children can learn, play, explore, and get MESSY! Children will explore the stations at their own pace while using their imagination, problem solving, working on social skills, expanding their vocabulary, and making connections. The playgroup is run by a licensed speech-language pathologist. Language tips and strategies will be incorporated throughout the play session and take-home materials will be provided.
Your child does not need to have a speech and/or language delay to attend the playgroups. ALL children benefit from play and all children are welcome to HAVE FUN and GET MESSY!
